Ems Travel
A first-class site for a first-class executive travel company.
A project which exemplifies why ditching pre-built themes in favour of a bespoke development can deliver massive improvements in a site's performance, usability and scalability.
Project overview
Alan, the founder and owner of Edinburgh-based executive travel company Ems Travel, initially came to us with an existing site which had been constructed using an off-the-shelf theme which included a booking system and which wasn’t performing well for him.
He also had another site, Ems Weddings, covering another side to his business, and wanted us to merge the two sites (whilst ensuring minimal SEO impact) as well as to enhance the design and functionality of the site and to take on site management.
We performed this work for him in 2022 and continued to operate the site for a few years however the site was consistently experiencing issues due to the bloated and buggy theme which were negatively impacting any benefit from the other work.
We therefore completely redesigned and rebuilt the site for him using a combination of Bricks, Gravity Forms and custom code to replace and streamline the site booking functionality. The new site was more lightweight, optimised and specifically tailored to his individual needs.
We’ve been working with Arcas for several years now, they rebuilt our website and refreshed it again last year, we are delighted with the results! They have a great understanding of our business and is always readily available to discuss and facilitate changes.
