At Arcas we feel strongly that any client of ours should have full involvement in and control over the development process of their website unlike many other web design studios who prefer to keep control for themselves and effectively give you what they think you should have rather than what you want.
The development of any website we work on follows a structured design process broken down into stages which are designed to ensure that the site which we deliver to you is the site that you want.
Stage 1 - Initial Consultation & Design
The first step is to discuss with you the needs and requirements for your website as well as any special instructions from yourself. This could include visual styling, fonts, colours and logos to be used, special features and functions and the like. We would also request an initial draft of content to go on your website.
Based upon this information we will create a template for your site which will be uploaded to a special development area on our website which will allow you to view the template from any computer with internet access. At this point the template will only be an image to give you an idea as to how your site will look and no links will be clickable or scripts operational.
You will be able to give us feedback on the template design and suggest any changes that you'd like made before we can move on to the next stage.
Stage 2 - Template Construction & Page Build
Once we have finalised the basic design for you we will create an actual web page based upon the template design and taking into account any feedback that you have given us to date.
We will then start creating the pages that will be needed for your site and also scripting any pages which require it - ie database-backed pages or email forms. Your site will continue to be developed on your reserved development area so that you can view the development at any stage you wish and at any time you wish.
Stage 3 - Site Review
After the pages have been created you will be invited to request any further amendments or adjustments to the site content. We will then make those changes for you and prepare the site for upload.
Stage 4 - Site Launch
Once all the pages are complete and to your satisfaction we will agree a date/time to launch your site by uploading it to the designated webspace, either on a hosting area that we have set up for you or on your own webspace.
Post-Launch
At any time after your site is launched you can of course return to us to request further changes/additions/deletions to your site. Alternatively you can edit the site yourself with a bespoke Content Management System.
