June 26th, 2008 - SITE LAUNCH: Childsplay Nurseries

We have just launched the newly designed website for Childsplay Nurseries, an Edinburgh-based nursery located at Falcon Road in Morningside.

Childs Play Nurseries Website

The site is a simple pamphlet site consisting of 7 pages including one for fees, one for information about the nursery’s garden area and pages about the various services that they provide.  Childsplay previously only had a set of pages provided by the Scottish Nurseries website, a directory service for listing nurseries all  across Scotland, and wanted something that was more unique to them and gave fuller information on their nursery.

June 6th, 2008 - NEW PROJECTS: ECNT and BeNutrition

The Edinburgh Centre of Nutrition and Therapy, located at Home Street, Tollcross, has approached us to develop for them a website which will cover the full range of their business services.

The ECNT is housed in a deceptively large premises which is fronted by a small shop which stocks health supplements and remedies but also has several treatment rooms beneath to allow for the provision of a wide range of therapies such as massage, nutritional advice, food intolerance testing and more.  They are also one of the UK’s leading suppliers of hair testing to nutritionists across the country.

BeNutrition is an associated company which operates out of the ECNT and a second location and we will be building for  them a simple site precisely for this company.

June 3rd, 2008 - SITE LAUNCH: The Burning Question

We have just launched yet another site, this time for an Edinburgh-based fireplace and stove supply and installation firm, The Burning Question.

The Burning Question Website Design Image

The site is a more extensive-page pamphlet-style one designed to act as an information resource for people looking to buy, and/or have installed, fireplaces and stoves. It includes a small amount of information regards the services and background of the company but also an extensive listing of the products on offer, with links to the manufacturer’s websites.

May 23rd, 2008 - SITE LAUNCH: Baccus Consulting Ltd.

We have just launched our most recently-designed site, this time for East-Lothian based consultancy Baccus Consulting ltd.

Baccus Consulting ltd Website Design Image

The site is a six-page pamphlet-style one designed to act as an information resource for people interested in the sort of work that the company carries out. It required a clean and professional style and a consistent look which remained in line with the company’s existing marketing materials.

The site also makes use of sIFR technology, which uses Javascript and Flash to replace headings on the page with Flash-generated images to allow for the use of non-standard fonts that are still completely accessible and understandable by search engines and screen readers. Interested in getting sIFR implemented on your own site? Then why not contact us?

May 6th, 2008 - NEW PROJECT: Grantonyouth.com site update

We designed the original site for The Granton Youth Centre several years ago now and they are ready to make some site updates and additions/deletions which we are only too happy to do for them.

They have had a slight rebranding and have become a limited company so are semi-relaunching themselves in order to let a wider audience know who they are and what they do. We will therefore be adapting their current site to suit this new information and will probably be rebuilding the basic layout using CSS rather than its current tables-based layout.

We’ll post a link to the finished site once it has been completed.

May 6th, 2008 - NEW PROJECT: Baccus Consulting

We’ve begun work on another new website, this time for Baccus Consulting, a Lothian-based consultancy firm.

The client was happy with our proposal to develop for them a site to promote their business and so we have just begun to create some initial design layouts for them which we will be presenting to them soon.

April 15th, 2008 - Need A Low Cost Ecommerce Solution?

Actinic is a piece of software that can allow you to have a fully-featured ecommerce store up and running quickly and easily.

It allows us to develop the look and design of your website and then upload this to a web server which you can then use a piece of desktop software to connect to, to update and administer your website and the orders that you receive. It allows you to run special offers, discounts, add categories, edit products, assign product attributes (such as sizes for clothes, colours etc) and all without having to know a single piece of web design code!

Although it comes with built-in layouts these are for the most part very simplistic and we would strongly advise you to come to us to allow us to develop a custom look for your site that includes your own logos/colour schemes and images so that it best appeal to your potential clients.  As well as providing you with the basic design of your ecommerce site we can also help you get used to the software and train you on some of the more advanced capabilities that it offers.

If you are interested in setting up an ecommerce site and are operating on a tight budget then why not get in touch with us to find out more?

April 7th, 2008 - Clients Feedback Added To Site

We’ve now added a new page to our website which is feedback from our current and past website clients.

If you are interested in getting us to do some work for your own website then why not check out this page so that you can see what our clients think of the work that we have done in the past? Not only does it have selected quotes from our clients but it also provides an extensive list of the people and organisations that we have done work for so that you can see sites we have worked on that pertain specifically to the area of your business or activities.

April 4th, 2008 - NEW PROJECT: neypf.org.uk

We have been commissioned by the North Edinburgh Young People’s Forum, for whom we previously designed a single-page site, to develop a more extensive site for them.

The site will be developed in association with the young people who make up the forum members and although we are still finalising the content it is expected to contain a members-only area, member profile pages, a gallery and information about the various projects that the group is involved in.  Site development is expected to be between 3 and 4 months.

More info to follow!
